AMMiC’s new display viewed for the first time at 2016 New Wineskins Conference.

For the past two and a half days (April 6-9, 2016), Bishop Stephen Leung, The Rev. Shihoko Warren (Church of All Nations), Ministry Coordinator Nona Leung, and Webmaster Alvin Ng have been attending the New Wineskins Conference in North Carolina.

Rev. Shihoko gave her testimony at the Thursday opening plenary session on how she came to faith and how she has been sharing Christ’s word. You can view Rev Shihoko’s testimony and the opening plenary session at AnglicanTV.

AMMiC also presented a workshop entitled “Ministry and Church-Planting Among Immigrants.” The workshop highlighted the importance ministering to new immigrants as they face new challenging such as language, culture and environment. Two case studies were presented. First, Rev. Shihoko shared more in-depth on the New Eden Garden Ministry and how it is incorporated in the Church of All Nations ministry (www.allnationscanada.ca). This was followed by Nona presenting the Good Shepherd Women’s Support Group ministry and how there was a shift in the ministry when the Chinese immigration demographics changed. A short presentation on AMMiC’s work in the Two Generations ministry was presented by Bishop Stephen and Alvin to show how Ethnic (particularly the Asian) Churches and new immigrant families have to wrestle with differing outlook in ministry and as one body in Christ.
