4th Fundraising & Thanksgiving

At the dinner, Bishop Charles Masters, the Diocesan Bishop of ANiC, will give his words of encouragement; and three of our church plants will share their stories: Christ the Redeemer, Toronto – the growing student ministry at A Quiet Place, located right next to the downtown campus of University of Toronto; Bethel South Asian, Brampton – their outreach to the Pakistanis; and Good Shepherd Calgary (Cantonese) – their stories of continuous adult conversions and building up financial stability for future independence.  Through their sharing, we hope you would better understand the struggles and development of our church plants.

Tanabata – Japanese star Festival

Yesterday, the Church of All Nations (Japanese) celebrated Tanabata, a Japanese star festival.  People generally celebrate this day by writing wishes on a paper strips and hanging them on bamboo tree, sometimes with other decorations.  At All Nations, the kids wore their Yukata and Samue and wrote their prayers to our heavenly Father.  Then the prayers were hung up on a bamboo branch.

Archbishop Ceremony at St. Vincent College

“This is an exciting time in the life of North American Anglicans,” Duncan said.

“Anglicanism in the 1960s was terribly fractured over various issues and accommodations of the culture. … This movement was to bring our family back together.”

And he feels confident that Beach will carry on the mission he began.

“I count it a real joy and sacred trust to be elected as the archbishop of Anglican Church in North America,” Beach said. “I believe leadership is stewardship. … Leadership is also temporary, and leadership also has accountability.”
