We thank God for Tom and his service at Good Shepherd Cantonese Calgary. May God use Tom to help the growth of this church plant spiritually and numerically through their monthly outreach, weekly worship service, weekly Bible study and
person to person ministry.
This week, four outreach meetings were held or will be held:
- Good Shepherd Vancouver: May 6 at the Taste of Life (ministry among grass root workers), a famous Chinese opera singer shared her story; May 7 at a women fellowship, Mrs Hui shared how she went through difficult life challenges with God’s grace.
Then on May 9 at TGIF monthly dinner outreach, Christine will share how she has been found by God.
- Good Shepherd Calgary (Cantonese) on May 10, a potluck dinner where a couple will share their story plus Chinese music will be performed by a group from the Calgary Chinese music promotion society.
Pray for those who attended and will attend the services that their ears will be opened to hear the mighty work of our Lord in real lives and their hearts will be opened to our God that their lives may be touched.
Please also remember the ongoing outreach ministries (ESL class, ESL Bible studies, social gatherings) that the Christ the Redeemer, Toronto has been doing.

Praise be to God for the growing presence of ANiC in Calgary.
On June 30, 2013, the Rev. Tom Chi-Tong Lo was ordained to the Diaconate (transitional). Almost 150 people gathered to witness the ordination and to give their support to Tom and Irene. It was a blessing to see the strong bonds of unity and fellowship among ANiC churches in Calgary as the people from Grace Anglican, Good Shepherd South Asian and Good Shepherd Cantonese celebrated this joyous occasion together. Many ecumenical friends from Chinese churches and theological seminary in Calgary participated as well. This was truly an encouragement to the growing ministry of the Good Shepherd Calgary church plant among the Chinese community. May the Lord continue to bless the ministry of Rev. Tom Lo and the people in Calgary.

Good Shepherd Calgary officially launched as an ANiC church plant with Bishop Stephen Leung officiating at a Holy Communion service on February 9 (Saturday) which was held at Our Lady of Peace Maronite Catholic Parish of Calgary (504 – 30th Ave, NW Calgary). 150 people joined the dedication service at which three adults were baptized – a real encouragement to this new Cantonese congregation.
Following this launch, Good Shepherd, a Cantonese-speaking congregation of 35-40 led by Evangelist Tom Lo, will meet regularly beginning February 17, 2013.
The group has been meeting for Bible study for two years as an evangelistic outreach ministry. About half of the congregation are seekers. So far one family and three adults have been baptized and others are preparing for baptism.
