The 2016 Joint Summer Conference is being organized by five AMMiC Churches and Church Plants – Good Shepherd Vancouver, St. Matthias and St. Luke Church, Good Shepherd Richmond, Church of All Nations and Good Shepherd Calgary – from Thursday June 30 to Sunday July 3. Two different language tracks will be available. The English track will have Rev. Sean Love (Rector of St. John’s Richmond) speaking on Christian Discipleship. The Chinese track will have Dr. Ka Lun LEUNG (President of Alliance Bible Seminary in Hong Kong) speaking on 華人、華人文化與與基督信仰 (Exploring Chinese Heritage and Christian Beliefs). A children’s program will also be available for children age 3 to 12 during the conference. Early bird registration deadline ends May 15, with full registration ending May 29.
Bishop Stephen has announced that Chris Ley, if God willing, will be ordained to the transitional deaconate at 3:00 pm on Sunday October 4th, 2015. The ordination service will be held at Anglican Network Church of Good Shepherd Vancouver, 189 West 11th Avenue, Vancouver, BC, V5Y 1S8. Parking information below. The 2015 Anglican Church in North America Provincial Council, Executive Committee, and College of Bishops are meeting this week on the campus of the University of British Columbia in Vancouver. The Asian and Multicultural Ministries in Canada (AMMiC) sharing was by Bishop Stephen Leung on how God has been guiding and leading the ministry. Rev. Shihoko Warren from Church of All Nations (Japanese) also shared her testimony to the Provincial Council.
The Provincial Council meeting concluded with a reception and a Holy Eucharist Service celebrating the Festival of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist at Church of Good Shepherd in Vancouver. Choirs from AMMiC’s Church of Good Shepherd and St. Matthias and St. Luke Church joined with St. John’s Vancouver provided wonderful voice to the worship sing, especially the Offertory Hymn presentation.
The Rev. Emmanuel Sadarak of St. John’s Sudanese in Surrey is invited to preach at St. Matthias and St. Luke Church in Vancouver this Sunday (March 9). The Rev. Emmanuel and some of the members of St. John’s will be singing hymns in their native language (Bari) during the service. The Rev. Emmanuel would appreciate your prayer as this will be his first time preaching in other AMMiC churches.
