Jesus said, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations…” (Matthew 28:18–20, ESV)
Dear Friends of Asian and Multicultural Ministries in Canada (AMMiC),
The Great Commission remains our calling. Christ, who holds all authority, sends us to proclaim the gospel and disciple the nations. This mission sustains AMMiC, especially through the turbulent years we have all endured.
In recent years, Canada has faced significant changes — surges of new immigrants, economic pressure, political shifts, and global unrest. AMMiC’s ministry has likewise encountered challenges. And yet, by God’s grace, we continue to press forward in church planting and leadership development across ethnic communities.
But one concern weighs heavily on us: many faithful supporters who helped establish AMMiC are aging or stepping back. A new generation must rise to carry this torch forward. Without it, the AMMiC movement cannot continue. We invite you to join us in raising up this new generation of givers, intercessors, and partners in the gospel.
2025 Ministries Highlights
- We give thanks for the Youth Musical Theatre outreach (“友・戲FUN”), which will be completing its third year of public performance on September 20-21, 2025. Through creativity and community, young immigrants are discovering joy, meaning, and belonging.
- For the Seventy Disciples School in Fall term, there will be Mental Health Conference (Oct 10-11) at Good Shepherd Vancouver Church, led by well-known Dr. John Swinton, and other 8 pastors & councillors to tell their moving stories. The purpose is to heal and walk together forward in this hurting world. Also, we will have a book study of “Two Generation ministry” led by Dr. Joyce Chan and Bishop Stephen in Oct-Nov.
- AMMIC continues to work on outreach ministry of Good Shepherd Burnaby, Anglican Korean church-plant, and if possible, the rebirth of Sudanese Ministry, led by Sudanese Bishop Andudu and Bishop Stephen, in joint-venture.
- If God’s willing, we are going to ordain two persons, one in vocational deacon, and the other, Peter Ra, in priesthood on Oct 18.

How do I give?
God has always provided just enough for each season. This year, AMMiC fundraising goal remains CAD $150,000 (to provide for AMMiC staff remuneration, leadership training, and funding for new church planting). Nona and I are once again committing $10,000 to this work, believing God is not finished with AMMiC. To sustain and expand this mission, we are launching a new initiative:
- The “Seventy Supporters” Campaign — we seek at least 70 new monthly donors, each giving $70/month, to raise $60,000 annually for AMMiC ministries.
- We also invite AMMiC churches and church plants to prayerfully consider allocating 2–5% of their annual budget as a “Mission Fund” to AMMiC — to support future church planting and leadership development.
- Cheque payable to AMMiC, mailed to:
160–4611 No. 6 Road, Richmond, BC V6V 2L3 - Interac e-Transfer to: donations@ammic.ca
May the Lord of the harvest raise up labourers, supporters, and servants in our time. Thank you for walking with us. Your partnership in the gospel is a gift we do not take for granted.
With every blessing in Christ,
The Rt. Rev. Stephen Leung
Area Bishop (Asian and Multicultural Ministries), Anglican Diocese of Canada
President, Asian and Multicultural Ministries in Canada
